Royal Ivy
The ivy itself came from Abbotsford, Scotland where the famed author Sir Walter Scott held a county seat.
The second type came from Kenilworth castle built during the reign of Henry I. This castle was the center where Oliver Cromwell, William Penn, John Weldon also met there for various meetings of great importance.
It is also where the Earl of Leicester reportedly entertained Queen Elizabeth and wrote a play in her honor that made mention of said ivy.
